State troopers responded to a report of a commercial motor vehicle that went off the road on I-89 South in Warner, NH, around 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 23, New Hampshire State Police report.
Upon arrival, troopers found a fully-loaded car carrier that slid off to the right side of the road. One of the cars on top of the carrier had also detached, rolled onto the truck, and landed in the road, police added.
The driver, identified as Fairfield County resident Alex Ferguson, age 62, of Stamford, was the only person inside the carrier. He was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, according to police.
The right lane of I-89 was closed for several hours as crews worked to remove the carrier. The state's Department of Transportation had also posted a reduced speed limit of 45 mph on highways in the area that day. Police did not say fast the carrier was going.
